School of Teachers Education (STE)
The School of Teachers’ Education is the
school in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at Hawassa
University established, in the year
2014 (2006 E.C.).
School of Teachers’ Education not only coordinates but also shares its rich experiences in the newly started education and training program, which has been currently designated as teachers' special capacity-building program aimed at capacitating secondary school teachers in their respective subject specialty areas as well as teaching profession.

Qualified and committed 17 academicians with various academic statutes (that is, to be specific the School contains one full-fledged Professor, one Associate Professor with PhD, three Assistant Professors with PhD, two Assistant Professors who are PhD candidates, and 10 instructors within the status of the lecturer level of whom seven of them are PhD candidates while the rest of them have an MA qualification.

School of Teachers’ Education (STE)
The School of Teachers’ Education is the school in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at Hawassa University established, in the year 2014 (2006 E.C.). The school offers post-graduate degrees that include a Master of Arts/MA in Curriculum and Instruction, Masters of Arts in Multicultural and International Education in different modalities such as continuous and summer programs. The school also confers a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Curriculum and Instruction, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Measurement and Evaluation, and Doctor of Education (DEd) in Assessment and Evaluation of Education. Besides, the School also offers Pedagogical professional courses across other subject area departments for Bachelors of Education (BEd) in different major areas, such as BEd in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, physics, Geography, English, Sidamuu Afoo, IT, and Sport science. The School also offers trainings of Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (PGDT), and Higher Diploma Program (HDP) for all Academic Staff of Hawassa University.
The School of Teachers’ Education, since long, has been providing education and training (pre-service and in-service training) for the secondary school teachers as well as tertiary level instructors in the education system of the country/Ethiopia. Graduates from the School of Teachers’ Education are key stakeholders, coordinators and implementers of education and training curriculum at various sectors within the country Ethiopia as well as at the international level. The School of Teachers’ Education, by its unique nature, is contributing its part to the academic staff capacity building of Hawassa University in the area of pedagogical sciences.
