Research Collaboration & Project
Our college actively engages in impactful research partnerships. In 2024, a project spearheaded by Professor Tesfaye Semela & Dr. Habtemariam Kassa commenced with a total grant of USD 79,917.75
Project Title: “Baseline study on the state of early childhood development in Sidama Region”.
Objective: To provide critical data and analysis to inform early childhood policy and prgrams in the region.
Labs, workshops
We support modern, technology-enhanced learning through specialized facilities.
ICT Labs: Our two computer labs enable dynamic teaching text, images, videos, and simulations to support diverse learning styles. They provide students with resources for global research, peer collaboration, and self-paced study. These labs are also utilized for administering national and university exams.

College Library: We maintain a dedicated library that serves students and staff of COEBSs, while also providing resources to other Colleges across Main Campus of Hawassa University.
Inclusiveness Club: This student-led club offers voluntary support services for students with disabilities across the Main Campus,, fostering an accessible and supportive university environment.
Community Engagement
As part of our commitment to serving the community, the college operates two on-campus institutions:
- Model Secondary School
- Kindergarten
These schools provide quality education for the children of Hawassa University staff and the wider local community.
